CURRENT PROJECT
#WSC on Napolean Coste Op 38
Currently, I am working on a weekly study challenge (#WSC) where I will read and record a study each week from scratch. Napolean Coste's Op.38 is the set I am working on. As the Frenchman's study seems to be neglected by the public, which tends to flavor F. Sor and M. Carcassi.

ARRANGEMENT & COMPOSITION
Acousmatic piece: Stay Home
As we are all stuck at home during the virus since 2020. I had been hearing sounds, not in a spiritual or mental way. But sounds around our home, sounds or noise made by our neighbor, our surrounding. Under the pandemic, the sound of the cityscape (I was in Montreal when I compose this) was transformed into household noises.
I took this opportunity to create this meaningful piece, as some of us neglect the importance of our role in fighting against the pandemic while expressing frustration during the lockdown. For a more detailed description of the development please see (Here).
ACADEMIC RESEARCH & NOTES
The development of guitar constructions:
Its Challenges and innovation
You might already notice from the background picture or my performance video that I play a quite unusual guitar by the French luthier Bastien Burlot. Guitar had developed a lot from its old days. This paper briefly talks about the history of development.
Inspiring Bossa Nova:
A Study of Villa-lobos influence on Antonio Carlos Jobim
When I was practicing Mazurka Choro by Villa-lobos, I found its B section works almost as if its written in bossa nova. Very interestingly, with further studies, there are evidence suggesting the heavy tie between Villa-lobos and Antonio Jobim.
Types of Tablature:
Its origins, and development
Tablature is often misunderstood as a product of modern-day practice. The history of it could actually be traced back to the days of Luis Milan and Alonso Mudarra. This paper aims to talk about the origins and development of this notation method.

“Once”, New style of musical movie from the breakthrough in music
Once is one of my favorite musical movies. In this paper, I talked about how Once is really a fundamental piece of work and eventually provide a new model for music movie production.
Guitar Legend Lecture Note
This is the lecture note from the workshop Kenneth and I held back in 2017. Mainly focusing on a few selected composers which have impacted the development of the instrument as a whole. Unfortunately, it's only available in Cantonese.
This is a paper I did when I was studying the relationship between Music and the Brain. New Age believers often say that the 432Hz has a healing function. Interestingly, the study I found, concluded that our body responds differently to different tunings. Thus, a potential health benefits for using 432Hz tuning.
